Rythmear stepped up to the microphone, broadcasting live across DeviantArt through all channels possible.
"Attention all Deviant Artists! Attention all cartoonists and flash animators! Attention all photographers and writers! Attention all the fans out there... Now is the time to put your creations to the test!
I shall be holding a Grand Tournament to determine the greatest warrior in DA. Put forward two of your creations, or nominate those of another, to do battle in this tournament!
Once your creations have stepped up to the plate, only their skill and the hand of fate can help them in their battles. Eventually, all combatants shall be eliminated but two - and they shall do battle for the title of Grand Champion, who shall defend their honour in the next tournament... as well as win fabulous prizes now!
The rules are as follows:
Entering Creations:
A character may enter the tournament in one of several ways. First a foremost, if you wish to nominate one or two of your own characters, you may do so. To keep the tournament in a spirit of fairness and good fun, the character should not be completely immortal. Therefore, no Gods or other immortal folk shall be allowed to enter. Note: Immortals who inhabit a mortal body may still enter, as they can still be rendered unconscious.
Secondly, if you wish to recommend another Deviant's characters to enter the tournament, you may do so. If that Deviant objects, then the character shall not participate - otherwise they are in!
And Thirdly - the defending champion is automatically in the tournament awaiting a challenger in the final round... as this is the first tournament however, there is not yet a champion!
But that shall all change soon!
Next, Pairing off:
All battles are determined randomly - before the tournament begins, all characters are paired off using a random number generator to determine the matches... This is in order to keep the matches as unbiased as possible.
Next, The Battles themselves:
All Battles are fought as I write - literally. I won't know the victor of a battle before the battle begins - instead I am using a system of chance I have developed so that I can determine how each combatant fares in the battles, and eventually, when the time comes - who the victor is.
The rules of the bouts themselves are that you lose if any of the following occur:
#1 You exit the bounds of the registered playing area.
#2 You are rendered unconscious or unable to fight on.
#3 You are killed/eaten. Note: Though this outcome is to be avoided at all costs, it does occasionally happen... in which case, said character shall be resurrected after the tournament to ensure that they don't interfere with their killer in vengeance.
The battles themselves take place on random battlefields chosen from the home worlds of all the entrants. Thus a battle could take place in my home town of Redhead, in the lush jungles of Felarya, in the chemical soup of Necromunda, or even the blank white squares of C&H.
These are the conditions! And the Prizes shall be announced after all competitors have entered...

This is the first of many tournaments to determine the skill and luck of the characters our art has created.
I shall be writing the rounds of the grand DeviantArt battle tournament for anyone who wants to nominate a character from anyone on DA to be in the tournament.
You can nominate ANYONE's character to be in the tournament and I shall go about the procedure of determining their suitability.
If the character belongs to you, they may automatically enter unless I have good reason not to let them in.
You may only personally enter two characters - choose them wisely.
All battles are fought randomly. I shall be using Dice in real life to determine the outcome of each clash until there is a decided victor for each individual battle. Eventually the two champions will face off for the title of Grand Champion - who will be defending their title in the next DA Grand Tournament.
