I swear I'm not way too enthusiastic about this character.

Gregory Veillance belongs to :iconbug-off:

I suspect one of the escaped inmates (or possibly one of the still-incarcerated inmates) has a bit of mental scarring about this fellow. Or maybe that's just me...

I'm suspecting that I've sparked a little creativity in you.

Veillance is beginning to take on an almost Slender Man-esque quality in this piece.

I suspect that a lesser mind being kept prisoner by a guy with a security camera for a head would develop a bit of a complex - even if they escaped, they wouldn't be able to see ordinary cameras without freaking out a little.

I've been wondering things about that character while I've been out and about (when I'm not focusing on Uni work and rehearsals and such). Like, having a camera-head in a place where you're chief of security leaves itself open to so many possibilities. Obviously he's your character, but I can't help but mull the ideas over whenever they crop up; like the idea that he's had his cranium modified slightly so he can connect remotely with the surveillance systems of the lab and see through all the other cameras. Even the very notion of having a mechanical head lends itself to the ideas of personality back-ups, recorded memories and a load of other things.

There's a movie called 'City of Lost Children' which contains a cult of people who give themselves prosthetic eyes:… - and one scene involves one of them going mad, unplugging another man's 'eye' and inserting the wire into his own, so the other guy is forced to watch himself being strangled to death. I can't personally imagine Veillance would be the kind of guy who enjoys getting his hands dirty, but it still sets the mind going.

Plus it wouldn't be the first time you've sparked something creative in me :P - even ignoring all the stuff I've done/written/performed with Lady Cane, there have been several occasions where something you've done has wedged itself into my brain. I don't always actually finish all the projects though - some time ago I started a little Pixel-sheet of characters done by friends of mine... I got one character in before I got suddenly swamped with University work, but I suspect you'll recognize the character in question.…

It's one of the amazing things about deviantArt, isn't it?

It certainly has allowed me to immerse myself in a community of creative people -

If I could emulate the style of the Gorillaz, I was fully intending to do a sort of 'portrait' of a few of my fellow artists as the band in the same vein as 'Clint Eastwood'.

Was gonna have myself as 2-D,

:iconmoonlight-pendent13: as Noodle,

yourself as Murdoc

and :iconherman-the-handyman: as Russel (who would be possessed by Umbrella Man as Del the Funky Homosapien)

Ah well - someday maybe.

Maybe some time I could help you with that vision.

I would be super psyched for that quite frankly :D

I mean, you've already got three people, you just need a fourth to complete the band.

Actually I've got four -
and Terra - plus Umbrella Man inside Zenechka's head. All accounted for!
